Will we really see the iPhone 5 tomorrow?

by Emma Dunn

So we’re all waiting with bated breath to see what Apple will announce tomorrow. The smart money is on the launch of the iPhone 5, but now Mashable are suggesting that we are all about to be severely disappointed.

Instead of unveiling the new iPhone 5, rumours are suggesting that Apple are just going to reveal a diluted iPhone 4S instead. It may mean that while some phone specs will probably be beefed up, the changes of the external design and other aspects of the phone may be minimal. According to Mac 9to5, iPhone 4S has been the pipeline for a while and there have been references to the iPhone 4S name in the iTunes developer beta since early August.

However, these are just rumours and nobody really knows what Apple is planning. Regardless of whether it will be the iPhone 5 or the iPhone 4S, we are expecting a host of new features such as an 8MP camera, a faster A5 processor and a voice-based ‘assistant’ feature. Chances are the iPhone will also operate on iOS 5 – the first mobile operating system by Apple to function in its entirety without the need to hook it up to a PC. Happy days.

Whatever Apple has to say tomorrow, it’s bound to be interesting. We at Nerd Insider can’t hide our excitement!
