Angry Birds – so simple yet so addictive. It’s the reason why many of us have to reach for our mobile phone chargers constantly. We could continue to play happily for hours on end if it wasn’t for basic needs such as eating and sleeping getting in the way.
The phenomenon that is Angry Birds continues to expand with special holiday editions, plush toys and even an Angry Birds movie or TV series is in the pipelines!
How many times have you completed a level only to replay it just to achieve all three stars? How many times have you said to yourself ‘just one more try’ before failing and having countless more tries?
With an estimated 300 million downloads, how addictive is the game really? The people of AYTM.com have conducted research into the Angry Birds phenomenon and created an infographic showcasing the results. The statistics show how popular the game has been since its introduction in 2009.
Angry Birds is played 200 million minutes per day which equates to 380 years of gameplay! More than 100 million of these little flying creatures have been catapulted towards those Greedy Green Pigs!.
They’ve also carried out interviews asking gamers about their love and hate for the game. 55% felt relaxed while 23% felt anxious. 58% of gamers suggested they were in a better mood after playing while 5% said their mood worsened. Some have actually deleted the game to prevent them getting addicted!
Perhaps some take the game a little too seriously in their quest to help their feathery little friends!
