Old version of Twitter finally retires

by Debbie Clarke

Are you an avid supporter of the old version of Twitter? Sticking with the original because as they say, ‘if it’s not broken don’t fix it’? Well if you are one of the few still using the older version of Twitter, if such people actually exist, I’m afraid to report that as of this week it will be retired.

As the newer version has been out for nearly a year now, it is hard to believe that anyone out there would still be using the old version, considering the new one is a perfectly good replacement. But there must be one or two who are behind the times, as the company has tweeted “If you’re currently using Old Twitter, we want to let you know that you’ll be upgraded to New Twitter this week”

Twitter has always warned that the older version would eventually be retired; it looks like that time has come with all Old Twitter users being upgraded to the new version whether they like it or not. So if you are one of the what must be only a handful of people still using Old Twitter, it’s time to join the rest of us in the Twittersphere enjoying the benefits of the ‘not so’ new version. Don’t worry though, it’s really not that bad!

Have you been using the old version all this time? Did you somehow miss the launch of the new one? Tell us how you feel about this change in the comments section below!
