We’ve recently wrote about some of the most successful projects on Kickstarter. After that introduction, we are now looking for the most exciting techie ideas and upcoming innovators!
Many of the projects trying to get founds on the platform are very unique. Seeing something that comes together because a group of passionate people want to see it happen is very special.
Steven Sesar is looking for $100.000 for his Free 4G wireless interest case for an iPad touch. The case would enable to have the Internet connection even on the go, and it would allow it to take some of the iPhone functions. However it looks like the FreedomPop will only be available in the US. We still love the idea of the free access to the Internet!
Tim DeBenedictis created a nano-satellite that lets you take Earth images as well as ‘tweet’ from space. The guys behind the project also developed a very successful SkySafari app, which is one of the most comprehensive astronomy tools for a phone. Sending a ‘hello world’ message just makes sense with the SkyCube.
Another cool Kickstarter project, Oculus Rift, lets you be inside the video game – that’s what we call brining the virtual reality to the next level. These guys already managed to raise over a million dollars which only proof there is a market for it! I’m looking forward to following the project and listening to first reviews.
The guys at Jumpshot made me laugh a lot though the project aims to deal with a very serious and common problems of owning a PC. These cool looking USB sticks are loaded with a software optimising your PC and removing a lot of the unwanted and unused pre loaded programmes as well as viruses.
The market for iPad cases and stands is pretty saturated at the moment but this project by Brett Faulk looks very promising. The stand allows you precisely position your iPad in any angle. It’s made of light aluminium and has a very sleek design. Though it allows you to use the smart cover, it’s lucking the back surface protection. On the other side, HumanToolz Mobile Stand is one of the best iPad tools I’ve seen recently; I’ll be following the development!
The last project I spotted is perhaps a little bit niche, but I’m sure many feel find it useful. If you’re into programming, definitely check out an e-book project by Fletcher Heisler. Real Python promises to deliver a change in the way the programming is taught with hand on lessons and examples from the industry. Heisler also plans for the e-book to be free.
